Statement by the Visual Arts Section on the proposal for the Berlin Senate's new anti-discrimination clause
We, the signatories of this letter, members of the Visual Arts Section of the Akademie der Künste, strongly share the concerns and misgivings that the Berliner Rat für die Künste, die Koalition der Freien Szene, der bbk Berlin, inm berlin, LAFT Berlin, und das Netzwerk Berliner Filmfestivals have already expressed against the plans of the Berlin Senate for Culture to intervene administratively and massively in the freedom of the arts and especially future art funding with a so-called anti-discrimination clause. We therefore emphatically endorse the appeal of the aforementioned groups and initiatives.
