An Evening with Peter Lilienthal
Peter Lilienthal (b. 1929 in Berlin) fled to Uruguay in 1939, returned to Germany in 1954 and became an important representative of New German Cinema. In 1979, he won the Golden Bear for David, in which he addressed his life as a child in the Third Reich. In 1984, Lilienthal was one of the founding members of the Akademie der Künste’s Film and Media Arts Section and was its director for many years. Lilienthal will talk with Eva Mattes, Jeanine Meerapfel and María Teresa Curzio, followed by a screening of David. Welcoming address: Michael Müller and Jeanine Meerapfel.
