The Israeli novelist, essayist and peace activist David Grossman is recognised as one of the great voices of our time. His novels are classics. Following his magnum opus To the End of the Land, about a mother who uses a walking excursion to magically try to avert the news about the death of her son, and Falling Out of Time, a lamentation for the dead, this book is about the comedian Dovele, whose torrent of words makes his audiences both laugh and cry.
