Images of Luther
Friedrich Dieckmann, F. C. Delius, Friedrich Schorlemmer
Friedrich Dieckmann published assessments by ten German writers on the Protestant Reformer, Martin Luther, in which he shows a special liking for the remarks of Goethe, Hegel and Heine. Friedrich Christian Delius concluded that Luther’s existential theological dilemma came about because Augustinus bribed the Roman emperor Honorius with 80 Numidian stallions in 418 A.D. Friedrich Schorlemmer refers to Luther’s achievements and his mistakes, while pointing out that every light has a dark side. Moderation of the discussion: Sebastian Kleinschmidt.
