Hans Haacke: We (all) are the people

Installation

A special artistic intervention will be featured this year in Berlin's urban setting. On numerous facades of exhibition institutions, Hann Haacke's work We (all) are the people will be shown.

These posters, which were first shown on facades and public transport stopps in Kassel and Athens, take up the slogan of East German demonstrators from 1989/1990 with a slight alteration to emphasize solidarity with migrants and refugees. Since then, the work has been displayed around the world by art museums and art schools, in this way asserting their open-mindedness and commitment to cultural diversity.

On the occasion of Berlin Art Week 2020 a new edition of Hans Haacke's We (all) are the people will be shown in Berlin's urban space in cooperation with Akademie der Künste, Berliner Festspiele/Immersion, Gropius Bau, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Kindl-Centre for Contemporary Art, Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart, Savvy Contemporary, Volksbühne Berlin and many other partners, initiated by Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) and carried out by Kulturprojekte Berlin.
