Helmut Böttiger: Die Jahre der wahren Empfindung. Die 70er – Eine wilde Blütezeit der deutschen Literatur
The slogan “death of literature” in Kursbuch 15, 1968 was precisely what triggered a heyday of literature. A new generation began to seek out free spaces for its own subjectivity. The period is associated with names like Peter Schneider, Rolf Dieter Brinkmann and Nicolas Born, with Verena Stefan’s Häutungen and Karin Struck’s Klassenliebe, as well as with major books by Uwe Johnson, Peter Handke, Peter Weiss, Ingeborg Bachmann, Arno Schmidt, Christa Wolf, Franz Fühmann and others. Ulrich Peltzer discusses his assessments with Helmut Böttiger.
