Walter Benjamin took his own life in Portbou in 1940 while fleeing from the German National Socialists. Accompanied by the Walter Benjamin Archive and KUNSTWELTEN, high school graduates from Rosa Luxemburg Gymnasium in Berlin explored Benjamin’s life and work and followed his footsteps across the Pyrenees. Sophie Narr’s documentary film of the trip will be screened for the first time. Followed by a discussion about the value of cultural education projects.
