KONTAKTE '22 – Festival for Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art

Festival

In September 2022, the Studio for Electroacoustic Music at the Akademie der Künste is hosting the KONTAKTE Festival for the fourth time. Including premieres, revivals and a diverse range of performances, the festival offers a spectrum of current artistic trends and developments in the fields of electroacoustic music and sound art. For five days, the entire Akademie building on Hanseatenweg is transformed through concerts, performances, sound installations and discussion panels.

KONTAKTE '22 sheds light on fundamental issues surrounding electroacoustic music, artistic production, and their reception.

The festival continues productive cooperation with the Month of Contemporary Music in Berlin, and intensively collaborates with artists in Berlin’s independent scene as well as others in the German-speaking and international music scene, including the ensemble mosaikLange//Berweck//Lorenz, the Pony Says trio and the Female Laptop Orchestra.

This year again supports a variety of new productions created in the Studio for Electroacoustic Music presented at the festival.

Once again, cooperations have been established, among others, with the Institut für Neue Musik KLANGZEITORT, the Berlin University of Arts (UdK), the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin (HfM), the Technische Universität Berlin (TU) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Elektroakustische Musik (DEGEM).

The festival is funded by the Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa des Landes Berlin.
