A Woman. Documentary Film Essay
Using 8 mm films, old photos and texts, the director reconstructs a woman’s life from Burgundy to exile in Buenos Aires. The result is a wake of associative images that make room for the absent. In a discussion, Jeanine Meerapfel and Lea Wohl von Haselberg will examine the aesthetics and ethics of documentary work and explore the ways in which memory is made visible and preserved.
