Dževad Karahasan: Practising Floating
How do people's behaviour and ways of speaking change in a city under siege? In 1992, the first-person narrator Rajko and the classical philologist Peter Hurd explore the encircled city of Sarajevo. In the process, they meet people who are trying to preserve their dignity with humour and hope despite the war breaking into everyday life. But when Hurd goes off alone one day, a mysterious disruption of his personality begins.
