Re-Edo-Cation

Auditory Symposium

For 250 years, Japan operated almost exclusively on the basis of solar energy, without any external supply of resources. At the same time as the circular economy of the Edo period, extremely vibrant art and culture developed. Taking the historical model as a starting point, the symposium with lectures, talks and art, held simultaneously in Tokyo and Berlin, will examine the spaces for thinking and designing a necessary ecological transformation for our future.

Kindly supported by the Japan Foundation.

This is a hybrid event. It will take place at the Goethe-Institut Tokyo and the Akademie der Künste, Berlin (at Hanseatenweg 10) simultaneously as a face-to-face event and the audio will be broadcasted also live on the internet - in Japanese, German and English. The event can be followed live on the internet as a radio programme in three languages via the website www.reedocate-me.com.
